I start this post with a cautionary tale of stag parties! Poor old Paul went away on his stag party to the UK and one part of the weekend was spent driving military tanks.

That sounds great but for the unfortunate groom, once finished driving the tank, he jumped from the top of it and shattered his kneecap in three places!! Surgery followed with a week in a UK hospital and all this three weeks before the wedding. The consequences were three metal pins inserted in the knee and a wedding day spent transferring from a wheelchair to crutches and back again. That said, all was done in good spirits despite a lot of pain. Poor old Paul!

Geraldine and Paul, despite this (thankfully temporary) injury, had a great day and smiled all the way through it. With the wedding ceremony in Roundwood, Wicklow and the reception in Barberstown Castle, it was a great wedding. With many guests traveling from the UK and further afield, the party started early and once again Barberstown delivered a very special day for the bride and groom. We didn’t get to go to Powerscourt Waterfalls as arranged but I’m going to sort something out for them just as soon as Paul is back on his feet.

Get well soon Paul!
